The Small Business Saturday national roadshow, ‘The Tour’, has arrived in Northampton.
As part of the official countdown to Small Business Saturday on 7 December 2024, this grassroots campaign highlights the achievements of small businesses across the UK. It celebrates their vital role in local communities, encouraging everyone to ‘shop local’ and support these businesses throughout the year.
To help celebrate Northamptonshire’s small business community, we are proud to shine a spotlight on three BIPC Northamptonshire Build Your Business grant winners and their incredible small businesses.
Laura’s Seating Solutions, custom designs for motorbikes, car interiors and home upholstery
Meet Laura, the creative force behind Laura’s Seating Solutions, where exceptional upholstery meets personalised design. With over a decade of experience in the industry, Laura has honed her skills working with esteemed names such as DFS, RC Moss, and Lunaz. Her journey has equipped her with a wealth of knowledge and expertise, allowing her to transform spaces with bespoke automotive interiors and home furnishings.

The Regent Street Cattery, a small boutique cattery in Desborough
The Regent Street Cattery is a boutique, eco-friendly cat hotel nestled in the back garden of Sue and Lionel Roberts, lifelong cat lovers and hospitality professionals. Opened in summer 2024, the cattery is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring ground screws to protect local wildlife, rainwater harvesting, and a fully insulated, double-glazed structure for year-round comfort.
Sue and Lionel bring decades of high-level hospitality experience, from managing iconic pubs to running restaurants at major events like the Chelsea Flower Show, Silverstone and Molineux Stadium. Their passion for feline companionship is evident—they are proud "staff" to four resident cats and one regular visitor, whose high standards influence the cattery’s premium service. Each guest enjoys tailored care in spacious suites, complete with comfortable bedding, climbing spaces, and hideaways, ensuring a safe and relaxed stay.
The cattery opened with the highest possible rating from North Northamptonshire Council, reflecting its exceptional standards of care.
Little House Accountants, accountancy tailored for small businesses
Little House Accountants, a female-led accountancy and bookkeeping practice, is dedicated to helping ambitious business owners achieve their goals with a tailored, accessible, and personable approach. Based in the serene village of Warkton, just outside Kettering, clients are welcomed to a unique countryside office in a converted barn that exudes warmth and charm.
Founder Jenny Scott, an experienced accountant, previously worked at a local accountancy practice for 8 years, where she advanced from trainee to Senior Accountant while earning her AAT and ACCA qualifications. Motivated by a desire for greater flexibility and stronger client relationships, Jenny launched Little House Accountants, beginning as a freelance bookkeeper before building her own practice.
Passionate about supporting her clients’ success, Jenny takes pride in fostering strong relationships and sharing in the growth of their businesses.
