The Build Your Business programme, delivered by the Library Service's Business & Intellectual Property Centre (BIPC) Northamptonshire in partnership with West Northamptonshire Council and North Northamptonshire Council, has awarded an outstanding 73 start-up grants of £2,000 to local entrepreneurs and small businesses. To celebrate this achievement, a special event was held at the picturesque Chester House Estate, bringing together grant winners from all three funding rounds.
The evening was hosted by BIPC Manager Patricia Greaves, who welcomed representatives from both West and North Northamptonshire Councils. The event began with an introduction by Cllr Helen Howell, North Northamptonshire Council’s Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Sport, Leisure, Culture and Tourism. She warmly welcomed everyone to Chester House Estate and set the tone for the evening.
Cllr David Brackenbury, Executive of Growth and Regeneration, took the podium next to congratulate the grant winners. He shared insights into the small business support available in North Northamptonshire, highlighting the council's commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship.
One of the highlights of the evening was hearing from Stuart Thomas, a grant winner from West Northamptonshire. Stuart shared his inspiring entrepreneurial journey and how the Build Your Business programme played a crucial role in helping him start his business.
The night concluded with networking, where attendees enjoyed pizza and cupcakes while sharing their business journeys and forging new connections.
The celebration event at Chester House Estate was a testament to the success of the Build Your Business programme and its positive impact on the local business community.
